We thought we were going to be riding with that all day but at the top of the climb everyone peeled off to the left to Yakima and we were left with an open rode with big wide shoulders. Yippie!!!
As we rode east along the columbia river gorge the trees disappeared and high desert appeared. The riding was grand, very strong tailwind. Picture one shows the most fabulous mini mart I have ever seen. They had everything you could ever want. Funny thing was it was seriously in the middle of nowhere. The woman who ran it was great the bathroom was all decorated and everything. She even had log books to read from all the others who had come before us.
As we rode along we saw lots of cattle.
We even had a whole herd of them stand up and run down the field along side of us. Very cool. At this point I broke into song. Craig will appreciate this.
(I'm moo moo the cow
I eat lots of hay
I sit on the tracks
For most of the day
My milk is so good
It doesn't take long
For all little children
To grow big and strong)
OK I'm a bit tired
Anyway rode 85 miles today. Had dinner in a tavern, had a beer (pic 2) and watched the redwings take game 5. Yeah.
Off to sleep now feeling good but tired.
Peddling toward
Walla Walla or Waitsberg tomorrow.
